To the members, friends, and all saints of SFCC...Greetings!
Psalms 34:1 declares, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth."
It has been a whirlwind of information this week regarding the Coronavirus. The impact has begun to affect the way many of us go about our normal lives. The headlines concerning COVID-19 has dominated all news media platform and has caused major fear and panic. This virus has had major impact in our world. Thousands are now infected by it and many lives have been claimed by it.
God’s Word strengthens and guides us through these times—fully. His promises strengthen us: “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
will not live in fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but rather we
exercise wisdom concerning this outbreak.
response to this outbreak it is in the best interest of all that we suspend our
gatherings for a few weeks. We are being responsible citizens of the kingdom
as well as this world as we share dual citizenship. However, we will live
stream our service on-line with worship and word and we trust that each one
will connect with us online on Sunday at 10:00am.
This is a time for the Church to earnestly pray and seek the Lord’s face concerning this world-wide crisis. We here at SFCC are a church that prays and believes the Word of God while yet operating in a real world with real issues. We are calling on all members and friends to respond in faith in a season of prayer.
Prayer is our offense and defense! We believe that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much. This is our opportunity to rise up and be united in one purpose. Therefore, we will be praying that this virus will be completely contained, eradicated, and for the families that have been affected that God would heal the land.
We will give you updates in a few days on how we will go about praying together in unity as the body of Christ. We are concerned for the wellbeing of all our members and community. We pray that all of you would be in perfect health and prosper even as your soul prospers.
Please stay connected with us to let us know if there are any health challenges or needs so that we can offer prayer and support. You can reach us at 415-584-5515 ext. 10 if you have any questions or concerns.
Blessings to you and your family,
Pastor Roderick V. Gittens
